Jennifer Hudson Bids Farewell to Slain Family Members

Jennifer has said that she is moving on. At a private ceremony held in Chicago, to mourn the loss of her mother, brother and nephew, Jennifer Hudson spent a few minutes by each of their caskets before leaning down and kissing her mom goodbye.

According to the Chicago Tribune, Jennifer was joined at the service by fellow American Idol contestant Fantasia Barrino, who dedicated the gospel song "Your Grace and Mercy" to Jen and her family.

Rev. Jesse Jackson and Chicago Mayor Richard Daley also attended, both speaking at the memorial for Darnell Donerson, Jason Hudson and Julian King. And, when the funeral had ended, a horse-drawn carriage led the procession to the cemetery.

Now comes the even harder part for Jen, as she has to figure out how to go back to her normal life, without the people she loved most. Our thoughts, prayers and love go out to her and her family.

Britney Spears son released from hospital

Well Britney's son has been released. Well I can tell you that since I have allergies that it could have been a serious thing. I'm happy that things are good.
Pop star Britney Spears' 2-year-old son, who was hospitalized over the weekend after he had a serious reaction to something he injested, has been released from a Mississippi hospital, according to a report on Monday on celebrity website TMZ.com.

Earlier in the day, Spears' family posted a statement on her official website, www.britneyspears.com, saying Jayden James was admitted to the hospital on Sunday, and "doctors concluded he had a reaction to something he ate."

The statement said the boy would be discharged on Tuesday, but TMZ posted a picture of Spears departing the hospital while holding the child holding the child in her arms on Monday evening.

People magazine, quoting a source close to the family, said that Jayden had suffered "a terrible allergic reaction. He had hives, was itchy and irritable."

The source told the celebrity magazine that Jayden "is doing fine" and Spears, 26, and her mother, Lynne, spent Sunday night at the hospital with him.

The trip by Spears to Louisiana, her childhood home, was the first time she had been allowed to leave California with sons Sean Preston, 3, and Jayden since their father Kevin Federline was given full custody in July.

Well all in all things are better now. give Britney a week or so and she or her family will be back in the news.

Madagascar Escape 2 Africa

I just saw this movie last night and thought it was great. I didn't see the first one but the people I went with said this second one was not as good.
Ben Stiller and Chris Rock were great.
"Madagascar," the 2005 animated film that brought us pampered zoo critters Alex the lion, Marty the zebra, Melman the paranoid hypochondriac giraffe and Gloria the hippo (and the penguins, don't forget those crafty penguins) pulled in about half a billion dollars at the box office. The sequel, "Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa," is a better film, though -- less manic, more easygoing. The first movie referenced so many other movies so indiscriminately, from "Chariots of Fire" to "Planet of the Apes" to "American Beauty," watching it was like being caught on a bus with a bunch of screenwriters on the way to a wisenheimer convention. The new one lays off that stuff, comparatively, and while there are booger jokes and such, you'll likely avoid that "Over the Hedge" headache so many of these critter outings instill. Marooned on Madagascar, Alex (voiced by Ben Stiller), Marty ( Chris Rock), Melman ( David Schwimmer) and Gloria ( Jada Pinkett Smith) yearn for home in the Central Park Zoo, where starry-eyed, egocentric Alex's antics have made him "king of New York." The penguins rig up an old, busted plane, slingshot fashion, and zing the quartet (plus stowaways) not to Manhattan, but to Africa, somewhere near Mt. Kilimanjaro.

MP3 Player Headphones May Throw Off Cardiac Devices

Now I have an MP3 player and nobody got hurt around me(that I know). But this recent news says that there has been some reports say tucking the headphones for your iPod into your coat pocket might not be exactly heart-stopping, but it could interfere with the normal functioning of your implanted cardiac device.

Harvard researchers presenting Sunday at the American Heart Association's annual scientific sessions, in New Orleans, report that magnets in these headphones might throw off pacemakers and implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs) when placed within an inch of the devices.

Although interference is unlikely to cause life-threatening problems, the authors of the study advise those with ICDs and pacemakers to keep headphones at least 1.2 inches from their device.

Others agreed.

"Don't put the device near your torso," recommended Dr. Peter Cheung, an assistant professor of internal medicine at Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine and a cardiologist with Scott & White Hospital. "Instead of your breast pocket, put it in your pants pocket or purse, and don't let the speakers hang from your shoulder or neck."

"People need to take just as much care with their MP3 as much as they do with other sources of electromagnetic interference," said Dr. Daniel Morin, a staff electrophysiologist with Ochsner Health System in New Orleans.

Other possible interference can come from microwaves, theft detection devices in malls and stores, and other sources, but patients should be fine with routine use. "Just don't hug the microwave," Morin said.

Previous research has indicated that iPods have little, if any, effect on pacemakers and ICDs, and a statement from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration confirmed that interactions between MP3 players and implanted devices are unlikely.

But less attention has been placed on headphones.

The authors of this latest study tested eight different types of MP3 headphones with iPods on 60 patients with defibrillators or pacemakers.

The headphones were placed on patients' chests right over their devices. Fifteen percent of patients with pacemakers and 30 percent of those with defibrillators had a response to the magnets.

But even higher-strength magnets had no effect when kept at least 1.2 inches above the device location.
